 Chile Adopts Energy Efficiency Rules for Dishwashers, Clothes Dryers, Refrigerators, Freezers, Tungsten Lamps
 On 17 December 2013, the Chilean Superintendence of Electricity and Fuels (SEC) issued three regulations with energy efficiency components. Resolution No. 2306 approves protocols PE No 1/04/2 and PE No 1/10/2 which set out the energy efficiency certification procedure for domestic electric dishwashers and tumble clothes dryers. Dishwashers and tumble clothes dryers must be certified and properly labeled by 31 March 2015 in order to be placed on the Chilean market.

Resolution 2309 approves protocol PE 1/17/2 on refrigerators, freezers and refrigerator/freezer combinations, updating 2006 standards set for this equipment. Refrigerators, freezers and refrigerator/freezer combinations must be certified and properly labeled according to the new standards by 31 July 2014.

Resolution 2311 adopts protocols PE 15/5/1 on safety aspects and PE 15/5/2/1 on energy efficiency aspects of tungsten halogen lamps with dichroic reflectors. These lamps must be certified under the new protocols by 31 March 2015.
