11-14 March   Nineteenth Meeting of the Forum of Ministers of Environment for Latin America and the Caribbean will be held in Los Cabos, Mexico. Among other things, the Ministers will consider approving a draft Regional Action Plan on Air Pollution, and regional cooperation on climate change, wastes, sustainable consumption and production (SCP) and environmental indicators, as well as the Regional Initiative on Rio Principle 10 and regional preparations for the Third International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
18-21 March   The Fourth Mesoamerican Congress of Protected Areas will convene in San José, Costa Rica. The Congress will bring together experts from Belize, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua and Panama and interested regional and international actors to propose initiatives involving protected areas, including marine protected areas, in protecting biodiversity and addressing climate change.
31 March - 04 April   The International Maritime Organization's (IMO) Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) will meet in London.
31 March - 4 April   The Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE) will hold an International Workshop on Planning, Development and Operation of Wind Parks in Havana, Cuba.
5-9 May   The UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) will hold its 35th biennial session in Lima, Peru. The Commission will not only review its 2012-2014 work and approve its 2016-2017 work program, but also hold a high-level debate based on a Secretariat discussion paper, Covenants for Equality: Towards a Sustainable Future, which discusses two key challenges facing LAC: achieving greater equality promoting sustainable development.
19-24 May   The World Health Organization (WHO) will hold the 67th session of its top policymaking body, the World Health Assembly (WHA), in Geneva, Switzerland.
27-29 May   The Fourth Session of the Regional Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction in the Americas will be held in Guayaquil, Ecuador. The Platform is a participative space for knowledge sharing that promotes the planning, monitoring and collective decision making and strategy, as well as actions to implement the Hyogo Framework for Action (HFA), all with linkages to international and national climate change adaptation efforts.The 4th Session will feature a high level panel on mainstreaming DRR and climate change adaptation in public policies, as well as four thematic sessions on: risk reduction and special segments of society; DDR, climate change and the development agenda; governance and public policies on risk reduction; regional consultation surrounding the new framework for DDR post-2015 (HFA2).
23-27 June   The top policymaking body of the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), the UN Environment Assembly (UNEA), will meet in Nairobi, Kenya.
27 June   The Heads of State and Government of the eight member countries (Belize, Costa Ric, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama) of the Central American Integration System (SICA) will meet in the Dominican Republic.
